Upper Peninsula Native Plants
Within the sections listed below, you will find lists which provide an introduction to just some of the Upper Peninsula's native wildflowers, grasses, shrubs and trees. These species are adapted to the existing natural conditions of the region. Since native species are adapted to the region's environment, using them reduces and eliminates the need for fertilizers, water, and maintenance. By using native species we provide the food and habitat necessary to support our native animals which rely on specific sources for food and shelter.
